Description:
Radiohead, at Glastonbury Festival in 2003, playing "The Gloaming". By 2003 most people had accepted the idea that it was no longer possible to crash the festival and hence it is recognised as one of the most successful years to date. The number of tickets available to the public was increased slightly over 2002, partially in response to criticism that the 2002 festival was underpopulated and lacked atmosphere. The tickets sold out within one day of going on sale, in marked contrast to the two months it took to sell a similar number in 2002. It was also the first year that tickets sold out before the full lineup was announced. This was also the year Radiohead returned to headline the Pyramid Stage. Revenue raised for good causes from ticket and commercial licence sales topped £1 million, half of which went to Oxfam, Greenpeace and Water Aid. |

ServerNotFound ::: Favorites only Thom Yorke can make a song about the rise of fascism sound and look so darn sexy. 07-07-30 18:42:51 _____________________________________________________
Zedetnik ::: Favorites Facism? 07-07-30 18:47:17 _____________________________________________________
ServerNotFound ::: Favorites apparently, while introducing the song during one of the gigs, Thom Yorke said that it's about the rise of fascism in the right wing. it is rather obvious that the song has a political meaning...murderers, you're murderers, we're not the same as you..shadows blue and red...they will suck you down to the other side...etc etc. yes, fascism. by the way, have you heard DJ Shadow's remix of it, with Bush's "vocals" at the beginning? it's ace. 07-07-30 20:40:39 _____________________________________________________
BitterrPill ::: Favorites haha, yeah, that remix is excellent! "nucular program nucular scientists NUCULAR HOLY WARRIORS" !!! 07-08-06 07:48:36 _____________________________________________________

Zedetnik ::: Favorites Yes, indeed. In the disk, the song is too electronic, but here, with the bass line, is a little bit more powerful. 07-08-02 13:45:48 _____________________________________________________
BitterrPill ::: Favorites too electronic? but that's the good stuff!! :P different strokes for different folks, i guess. anyways, i freakin' love The Gloaming live, but still i can't say i prefer it to the album version. i'd say i like them both equally, but for different reasons. the bass line in the live version is kick-ass for sure! 07-08-06 07:57:09 _____________________________________________________
mnemosune ::: Favorites During the Rh concert in 2003 in Bergamo, Thom said that this song was dedicated to the italian right governament. "This song is dedicate to MR. Belusconi"..I was there! Thanks Thom 07-08-11 17:14:35 _____________________________________________________
