My random thoughts and views on asian american culture and pride. I welcome all opinions seeing as I'm putting mine out there, but if you're here to flame or name call, you will be ignored. |

grapeace1 2008-04-03 20:06:15 I see black people tend to get along with asians than white people in my school. idk, just my school. __________________________________________________
Hauraunah 2008-04-02 02:04:08 Well I'm glad that you have pride. I'm not saying that you have to be a certain way to be asian. I respect the fact that you don't know your native language because I don't either, your parents of grandparents might have had their reasons not to teach you, but you still like being asian! Being asian to you isn't making a rice joke and then putting your white/black friends on a pedestal. Those are the types of asians I'm surrounded by. __________________________________________________

joeysonson 2008-04-01 16:01:19 ...as of late bc more of us are 1st generations asian americans are getting older and now there are increasingly 2nd generations and so on...The result of this is that you are seeing more asians in hollywood more asian musicians NOT BC THEY ARE EMBARRASSED TO BE ASIAN but bc it has to do with how there raised...Just bc were asian should not prohibit us from doing things that we have grown to love whatever that may be..I am not ASIAN ASIAN yet i am still proud of my history and culture.. __________________________________________________
joeysonson 2008-04-01 15:55:12 im PROUD to be asian and i am NOT PROUD about how i can't speak korean that well! But i was born in america i am korean american. My brother served in Iraq in the us army and that is suppose to make him less korean? lol...The problem with ppl in america is that we are still going through a transitioning phase..African americans feel more american bc they are...they have been here longer and were forced to adopt slave names thus making them more american..Asians are being seen as more american __________________________________________________ |
