theclayguy ::: Favorites The Sands, Dunes, Landmark, and Stardust had very nice unique towers. (and signs) I'm not saying the Wynn is ugly. It's just way too tall and shiny. It also kinda sticks out. The old casino towers were all diverse in their own unique way. The newer ones just look like rectangular 'office style' buildings. 07-10-02 18:38:15 __________________________________________________
Vegasrossie ::: Favorites which ones certainly not hacienda or thunderbird (el rancho), frontier or even sands or dunes. Caesars yes and to an extent landmark but how can you say Wynn is an eyesore just because it is big. Surely empire state building is an eyesore too then based on that logic 07-10-01 20:30:20 __________________________________________________
Vegasrossie ::: Favorites yeah the strip was doing fine during the 1960s but come the 1980s (post mob influence) its appeal was gone, atlantic city was kicking its ass, even friggin Reno was catching up quick. 07-10-01 20:25:56 __________________________________________________
theclayguy ::: Favorites The old hotel buildings had great architectural designs and were nice to look at. The giant buildings we see today (like the Wynn) are big eyesores. 07-09-17 18:57:16 __________________________________________________
artistmac ::: Favorites Yes, the population's doubled. Not necessarily a good thing, when everybody's driving. And the Strip was doing just fine without exploding volcanoes and outdoor pirate ship battles. 07-09-14 17:33:59 __________________________________________________
Vegasrossie ::: Favorites without Wynns influence in the late 1980s the Strip would today be dying a slow death imo. It certainly wouldn't be attracting anywhere near the 40 million visitors annually it currently enjoys. Its also no coincidence that the population of las vegas has doubled since 1989 (the opening of the Mirage) 07-09-12 22:32:46 __________________________________________________
artistmac ::: Favorites Damn, I miss the old, pre-Steve Wynn Vegas. 07-09-05 03:26:56 __________________________________________________
drkmcgrew ::: Favorites sweeeeeeeeeeeet 07-08-15 02:55:42 __________________________________________________
bazrippa ::: Favorites Sounds familiar lets tear down huge buildings and rebuild with new improved ones!! Hey if we make it look like an accident then we could claim on insurance. Larry Silverstein 2001 Search WTC7 07-07-22 00:20:18 __________________________________________________
SoundRoss ::: Favorites i think it was closed about a year before it was imploded while they were designing and planning the Wynn..the Wynn hotel is a monstrosity that i can see from my house about 10 miles away...theres supposed to be another implosion of the Frontier in a few months from now and if i can ill shoot that one too =] 07-06-14 12:49:59 __________________________________________________ |
