..sweet as G!!tana is full blooded samoan, tua to name a few,my mum among other maori children were bashed at school for speaking the reo,it was outlawed by pakeha, and it was in her generation the passing on of our birth right was nearly all but lost, and the myth of the full-blooded maori was born, look how the islanders can still rattle off in their language, the pakeha wanted aotearoa, not the islands, and we gave them a fuckin hiding on the battle-field(new zealand wars)hence "the HAKA"

i use to get asked .."hey, wot island are you from? and islanders, samoan, tongans etc full blood themselves could'nt tell the differance. i'd say "i'm from the fucken north island! lol! and i really never gave a toss back then, but i found out about some stuff that would take more than 500 characters to try an explain that to someone, where i once was!

hey iayzaa69 thats a myth about.."there is no 100% maori anymore" ..ethnic cleansing of the culture and language at the advent of european colonization left the next generations as english speaking maori, ..but a myth emerged in the heads of most, even myself that there were no pure blood maori left, ..heh! hence the introduction of kohanga reo's nationwide in the 1970's
