Description: BOISE - After clinging to life for more than a week, a 13-year-old Boise boy hit while riding his bike to school is dead. Josh Worner died Saturday night. The boy suffered critical head injuries in that crash 10 days ago. The boy's family is now struggling to cope with his death and find ways to pay all of their bills. "It is a tragedy," family friend Bruce Wong said. "The young man passed on due to complications of the accident that occurred about a week ago, with him riding a bike and colliding with an SUV. Josh Worner's was struck on October 19 while riding his bike to Boise's South Junior High School just before sunrise. He was hit by an SUV, the driver says she couldn't see Worner. "There for the grace of God go I, so to speak," Wong said. "This could have happened anytime, anyplace unfortunately it involves children and right now that family is going through the process of how to bring closure to this." When he was hit that morning, Josh's bike had no reflector and he wasn't' wearing a helmet. "This can happen to anybody, and there's just a tremendous responsibility for drivers and all of us that ride bikes and let's just hope this doesn't happen again," Wong said. A benefit memorial account has been set up at all Wells Fargo banks to help Josh Worner's family pay for his funeral and medical bills.

concernedmom9 ::: Favorites Maybe you shouldn't say anything if you don't KNOW the facts. Josh was mowed down by an unlicensed driver on a street where he had the right of way. He was an INNOCENT victim. Any pedestrian or kid on a bike could have been killed by that inattentive, unlicensed driver blindly speeding into the WRONG lane of traffic that morning.
