hmm when i said i don't understand i guess i meant more that it's just silly for me ... i do understand where it's coming from ... it's just not very logical to me ... but it comes from a guy that doesn't associate himself with anybody just because of the color of my skin or country of origin ... i dont feel white nor polish ... my race and origin do not defy me ... my ideas and acts do .. and therefor ppl getting offended by polish / jewish jokes ... is extremely ridicules to me

see for me ppl are just way oversensitive .. who cares about hints ... I'm not racist ... i don't mean anything derogatory by it ... i didn't even know where it came from for the longest while ... all I'm saying is that if black ppl use it it's funny they get offended when a white person says it .. either u say it's a derogatory remark and u don't use it ... or it's not a derogatory remark until someone means it in that way

It's for the same reason that when Woody Allen makes fun of Jews it can be funny, but if a German makes fun of Jews, well, the baggage of history rears its ugly head. Similarly, white America has a lot of ugly history in its treatment of blacks. So anything that hints of alignment with that ugliness can be considered offensive.
